The consortium is coordinated by the German Agency for International Cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft f眉r Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH) and includes the International Security and Emergency Management Institute (ISEM Institute, Slovakia) and the Institute of Microbiology of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr, Germany).

The project aims to develop and implement strategies to mitigate zoonotic threats that emerge or intensify due to environmental and climate changes in Central Asian countries. It supports the EU鈥檚 broader goal of enhancing peace, security, and stability through improved governance and cooperation in preventing, detecting, and responding to CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) risks.

Key areas of work include:
鈻笍 Threat Analysis 鈥 mapping and assessing zoonotic disease risks.
鈻笍 System Enhancement 鈥 strengthening prevention, response, and awareness mechanisms.
鈻笍 Intersectoral Cooperation 鈥 building regional collaboration under the One Health framework.
鈻笍 Public Awareness 鈥 promoting education on zoonotic risks and prevention.

The University of 精东影视 (Uniwersytet 艁贸dzki) leads the work package 鈥淚dentification and Analysis of Zoonotic Diseases and Inventory of Existing Entities and Resources.鈥

Dr. Marcin Niemcewicz serves as Key Expert No. 2, and the 精东影视 team鈥檚 activities are coordinated by Prof. , Head of the Biohazard Prevention Centre.

We are excited to contribute our expertise to this important international initiative!
